Mustard Sweater Knit Coordinates

Coordinates are things I need at times and the past couple of weeks, I have focused on some basics that will go with existing pieces in my wardrobe. 

I purchased this Style Maker Fabrics' Sweater Knit in Honey and my idea was a cardigan.  So I went with my usual cardigan pattern, McCall's 6996. and it was a quick sew.  I looked at Pinterest and saw a golden cardigan with red jeans and white tee.  These are garments I have made in the past, so I went with the look.

I did use View A for the front and View C for the back and it is a quick garment to sew. I know this one will go with so many more things in my closet.

I did have extra fabric and went with the True Bias Rio Ringer T-shirt which doesn't take much fabric and I love the fit.

The sweater knit is perfect for this pattern and the honey color goes perfectly with my Simplicity 8700 jacket which I did not have a good top for it.  Now I do!

What is more basic for summer than t-shirts? I live in them once the hot, hot July days hit, it is the only thing that helps with the Mid-West heat and humidity.

McCall's 7547 - Mood Fabrics' Linen-Rayon

I have been wanting a pair of linen overalls for summer and decided it was time to get those made and have all summer to wear them.  I found the perfect fabric, Mood Fabrics’ Celadon Linen and Rayon Woven, the color is gorgeous and the fabric has a wonderful feel and drape.  I am sorry to say this color is sold out but there are several other colors available, maybe I should get another one and make more overalls, I love these so much.  From the Mood site about this fabric, The combination of linen and rayon provide a softer hand with a bit more radiance than a standalone linen

McCall's 7242 - Border Print

Winter is coming to an end, well, I am hoping and wishing but today was a gorgeous day for photos, so that is a good thing.  This Mood Fabrics’ Italian Black Striped Floral Rayon has been calling my name to sew it up and I decided I better get to it.   This is a fabulous fabric and do note it has a stripe with the pattern.  I lined it up everywhere but the side seams of the bodice, I just didn’t have enough fabric.

Normal temps for this time of year are in the low 50's but not this year, we did get above freezing today.  That good news with that is I went outside and took pictures of my newly completed vest.
