mySewnet Home Sweatshirt - Linden Sweatshirt

I need to step up my casual wardrobe.  My problem with my casual wardrobe is I purchase a graphic sweatshirt and then I wear it for a house project and garden project.  Then yes, it gets stained.

It is winter time and that means a new flannel shirt. To me flannel means plaid or check and I saw a RTW shirt with big buffalo check, using two colorways. This was the shirt I needed and I knew I could make it better with my own signature on it.

Two Pair Navy Linen-Cotton Shorts- Grainline Maritime and Simplicity 8134

I needed navy shorts, my pair was just worn out, you know the ugly navy faded out color.  My first thought was I need to go buy some shorts.  What, Lori?  Are you serious?  Well, I really do like the Loft shorts, they fit nicely and are a good length.  Well, I thought about it some more and knew I had some great linen-cotton stretch fabric.  Hey, Lori, make yourself a pair!

Archer Shirt - More Gingham

I love gingham and I cannot lie!  You all might get tired of seeing gingham garments, but this fabric is just so fun and says spring.  I need spring here.

The Archer Shirt has to be my favorite pattern and the most made and most loved.

Cascade Duffle Coat

Another Coat for me!  This one is going to take a bit to sew and right after my Moto Jacket.  I point this out because two lengthy projects in a row is unusual for me but I have always wanted to make this Cascade Coat.  Now seemed like the perfect time!

So the newest coat is Grainline Studio's Cascade Duffle Coat and using corduroy for a 70's feel.

The fabric is from Sewing Studio in Wine and it is gorgeous.  Now, the pictures are from construction and they do have so lint!  Toggles from an Etsy Store

I did want to interline the jacket, I used some flannel.  Stitched it at 3/8" (seam allowance is 1/2") and I trimmed close to the stitching line.

The pockets are lined with solid color lining and thank goodness for my chalk marker.

Lastly a picture of the zipper.  I have to confess, this took me about 4 tries to get it just right and to lay right and the front band to sit right.  More than three times a charm but the zipper is done.

I did shorted my separating zipper, a first for me.  It really was quite easy and I will do it as needed in the future.

Sewing Studio provided me with the fabric for this project and I am so happy to have this opportunity to create with this fabric.  

Mood Fabrics' Plaid Flannel Archer Shirts

For  me a winter wardrobe staple is a plaid flannel shirt and I was in need of a new one.  I went with Mood Fabrics’ Maroon/Gray Tartan Plaid Cotton Flannel and it is such a nice weight for these twenty degree days.  My go-to shirt pattern is the Grainline Archer Shirt, which I have made many times including two on another Mood Sewing Network post.
