Chalk and Notch - Victory Tank with Buttons

One yard of this beautiful fabric and I wasn't quite sure what to make.  Then on the Chalk and Notch blog a tutorial was posted

The minute I saw the hack for the Victory Tank, I knew this was a great use of my
Style Maker Fabrics' Atelier Brunette Summer Shade Rayon Challis.  So I headed to the Chalk and Notch site to purchase the Victory Tank pattern

This top is so quick to make, even with the front button placket.  One change was not to line this top as per the instructions, I used the premade bias tape from my Scout peplum top, for the neckline and the armscye, having just enough to finish.

The buttons were from my stash and work nicely with this print

I made a size 10 and I think I need to raise the neckline next time, it is just a bit low especially when you move.  I feel like it dips a bit too low, so that will be my main change.  I will make the button front hack again, I love how it dresses up a basic tank and adds interest.

The flare of this tank is nice and with a nice drapey fabric works well, this challis has perfect drape.

This will tradition nicely into  fall with a cardigan, love a good layering piece.
