McCall's 7387 - Floral Rayon Poplin

This is celebration time, I finished all the fabric I ordered from Style Maker Fabrics in the spring!!!
This last one is the floral blouse which has the colors that will go into fall.

So the fabric is Style Maker Fabrics' Floral Rayon Poplin  and it s sooooo amazing!  I went with a pattern which I have wanted to make for awhile, McCall's 7387

This shows the hem and side, but I didn't check the mirror first and oops on the collar.

The back is reason I really wanted to try this pattern, it is very unusual pleat.

This fabric is gorgeous and I love the colors from the background to the flowers

The blouse went together very quickly but has one thing a bit different for a collared button up - no collar band.  I miss that band/stand, it just helps the collar sit right.  For this reason not sure I will make this again.

This does work tied in the front

Throw a sweater on and I am ready for fall

Junior even likes this outfit - no he just wants the attention

  3. Very pretty top! I see what you mean about the collar but that back pleat is worth it.

    1. yes, the pleat is worth the trade off of the collar

  4. It looks great, you could easily substitute collar and band for this. I noticed many people have remarked on this issue in their reviews.

    1. Yes, I could add the band or I wonder using the back for another shirt pattern with a band. That might be an easier substitution. Thanks for helping me think of changes.

  5. I have owned this pattern for two years and still haven't sewn it up - I just wasn't sure about that huge pleat. would it be hard to remove it, do you think? I also didn't realize it was a one-piece collar, so thanks for pointing that out with the review!
