I had just enough fabric from my skirt to make a pair of Maritime Shorts, love this floral look!
Just in case you didn't see the skirt, it was Simplicity 1465 and the fabric is from
Style Maker Fabrics. It is such great fabric, I couldn't fold it up and put it away.
I made the Maritime Shorts from Grainline Studio a few years ago and thought it was perfect for this fabric. Check here for my previous makes
These shorts are quick to make and I have made a few changes to the pattern. I changed the front fly and pockets construction like my Ginger and Morgan jeans. The pocket bags are quilting cotton.
Thanks, Michelle, for such great fabric and I need to keep this Maritime pattern in rotation this summer.
Do you all have a go-to short pattern? What is your favorite make for leftover fabric.
I don’t have a good short pattern and that looks like a good contender, though I’d have to lengthen several inches. I can’t tell if there are pockets, but I must have deep side pockets, as well. Yours look great and I agree that’s awesome fabric!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I maybe should of made them 1 inch longer but this is good. Thanks so much.
