SImplicity 1465 - Floral Stretch Sateen

Simplicity 1465 made from Style Maker Fabrics' Stretch Sateen

Want a to know something about my pattern collection?  Well, here it goes, I have two skirt patterns, one is the Sewaholic Gabriola and Simplicity 1465.  Can you believe that?  I will have to start looking at skirt patterns and add a couple to my collection.

This fabric is from Style Maker Fabrics and is sold out, sorry, it is beautiful!  Michelle does have several other stretch sateens

This skirt is simple to make, darts, side seams and invisible zipper at the center back.  Add the facings, then hem, which I stitched by machine.

Not visible in this back photo, there is a small slit for walking ease.

I am working on figuring out the best skirt shape for my "H" shape.  I am not sure it is this shape, maybe one with a waistband or a waistband and a fuller skirt?  Any thoughts?

I do love this fabric and the way this skirt looks.  The colors are fabulous and the dark navy background really makes the floral pop.

I am wearing this with a very old Simplicity top and a RTW cardigan but thought I would try it with a simple t-shirt and flats.  That works but I do like the cardigan best.  The good news is I have enough fabric to make a pair of shorts, which I know I will wear so much this summer.  So I am heading to finish it up.

  1. Lovely skirt! I love all the bright florals available now. Two skirt patterns? Ho do you feel about 1970’s-1990’s patterns? I’ve LOTS that need a new home. If you’re interested email me your snail mail and they will be happy to live with you. 😃❤️

  2. I think that shape of skirt suits you very well - and that fabric is gorgeous and summery, perfect with that cardi and tee. Since you ask for thoughts, if I'd change anything it would be to add a couple of inches to the length but hey, I don't have ANY skirt patterns so what do I know?
