I tend to sew in color families, especially with knits. I feel it saves time as I don't have to rethread the serger, sewing machine and cover stitch machine. So today, I am sharing three navy tops.

Two Tops for Summer into Fall
Summer is winding down and my thoughts are turning toward fall sewing. I am not ready to give up summer all together, after all it is still 90+ degrees here in Missouri but I am ready for sewing something different. I spotted this fabric right when it was added, Mood Fabrics' Italian Teal and Black Lacy Brocade I had to have it. It is so gorgeous and my thoughts were a simple Grainline Scout T-shirt, that way the fabric does all the talking. Another plus was the fabric description from Mood's site, "Has a soft hand and graceful drape, almost like a knit but without the stretch". That sealed it, Scout t-shirt for sure

My Wardrobe Necessity
White t-shirts, boy, can I go through these things in the summer. I wear and wear the ones I have and it never fails, I get something on them.
My biggest trouble with RTW is the thin fabric, I don’t want to wear a camisole with a white t-shirt when the temperatures are 90+. I
I did find a great cotton knit from Fabric Mart Fabrics and used it to make a Briar t-shirt

Silk Shirt using Three Patterns
A luscious piece of Mood Fabrics' Silk Crepe de Chine
has been sitting on my cutting table just waiting to be made into a new top for me. I really struggled to find a pattern I wanted to make. I wanted it loose but not too loose, that doesn't look good on me. I spent several days...
looking and
looking
and looking
through my pattern stash.
