Easier projects, I do love them. I usually turn to them when I need a quick sew, want to sew up some stash or going to start a larger project. This Scout Tee happened because of all three!

Scout Tee
This project was finished at the end of 2016 but didn't get worn until 2017. It was a very quick project and one that was perfect to get me back to the sewing room after the holidays.

Print Mixing and Vogue 8909 with Mood Fabrics
During my day, I love to head over to Mood Fabrics' online store and check out the what's new section, which is updated quite frequently. It is such a nice break in my day and I can contemplate all the fabrics and what they might become. After I browse for a day or two, it is time to shop! I tend to shop two different ways when looking at all the fabric goodness at Mood Fabrics. My first way is with a specific garment in mind, which in this case led to these two fabrics in my cart, the first this Mood Fabrics' Pucci-esque Bold Border Print Poly Jersey

Two Tops for Summer into Fall
Summer is winding down and my thoughts are turning toward fall sewing. I am not ready to give up summer all together, after all it is still 90+ degrees here in Missouri but I am ready for sewing something different. I spotted this fabric right when it was added, Mood Fabrics' Italian Teal and Black Lacy Brocade I had to have it. It is so gorgeous and my thoughts were a simple Grainline Scout T-shirt, that way the fabric does all the talking. Another plus was the fabric description from Mood's site, "Has a soft hand and graceful drape, almost like a knit but without the stretch". That sealed it, Scout t-shirt for sure

Thakoon Scout Woven T-shirt with Khaki Burda Pants
Enter into my sewing room two fabulous Mood Fabrics' Thakoon prints. First to arrive to was Navy Abstract Soft Cotton
My plan was a Butterick top but then I found this Anthropologie shirt. So forget Butterick and enter Grainline's Scout Wovern T-shirt. I just had to go shop for another fabric at Mood to get this look. I tell you that is a hard job (ha ha) but I stepped right up and went to shopping. It wasn't long and I found just what I wanted. Silk Shirt using Three Patterns
A luscious piece of Mood Fabrics' Silk Crepe de Chine
has been sitting on my cutting table just waiting to be made into a new top for me. I really struggled to find a pattern I wanted to make. I wanted it loose but not too loose, that doesn't look good on me. I spent several days...
looking and
looking
and looking
through my pattern stash.
