Pinwheel Quilt

My last post for 2014, a quilt that was completed about 6 weeks ago.  I finally had two people at home to hold it up and a pretty day for pictures.  This combination has been hard to find.

This pinwheel quilt is made from two Scrumptious layer cakes and some Kona Snow yardage.  I did remove all the solids from the layer cake and a couple of prints that read mostly light background.

Ginger Jeans- Second pair in Black

I finished my second pair of Ginger Jeans this weekend and wore them to a Christmas with friends.  I love this pair, too.

Lots of wrinkles in this pictures, but I think it is the hands in my pockets, making the pants pull across the front.

The fabric is from Mood - a sueded cotton, which has just a bit of spandex.

For this pair,

Ginger Jeans for Me

I purchased Closet Case' Ginger Jeans right after it was released.

Finally last week I had time to make these jeans, using some Theory stretch twill from Mood Fabrics (sold out now).

I am so happy with the fit of these jeans, especially for the first time out.

Friday Fashion Inspiration - 10

Oh, my I am getting a late start on this week's inspiration.  It is 9 pm central time  on Thursday and I am just starting, usually I work on this all week but it has been one of those weeks.

Enough about me, let's get to the inspiration, which McCall's just helped with new patterns just released.

A shirtdress is a great one to have in your wardrobe and this Vince Camuto is gorgeous from Nordstrom's

Jalie 2919 in Italian Wool Sweater Knit

Just as the song states, "oh, the weather outside is frightful" that has been the case here in Missouri.   I just need to change the words from snow to rain, cold, gloomy and damp.  With the cold and gloomy in mind, I decided it was time to make something out of sweater knit.  I went with this Mood Fabrics' Italian Wool Flamestitch sweater knit  in the blue colorway but do note if blue is not a color for you it does come in three other colors.  This sweater knit is just the softest and so cozy, perfect for yucky weather.  Since this fabric arrived, I just kept touching it and admiring how soft it is.  Plus I am amazed it is 100%wool, there is no scratchiness at all.  If the flame stitch isn't for you,  there are so many other Mood Fabrics' sweater knits available.

Totally Trendy Tote - First Christmas Present Completed

My girls are blessed to have a wonderful couple in their lives, not related but we always say they are like another set of grandparents.  Each Christmas we get together for a meal and exchange gifts.  The woman is a quilting friend and she makes so many quilts and quilted items.  It is unbelievable how productive she is.

Each month we have a sewing night at the local quilt storeand I decided to make my friend a big bag.  I thought the bag could be filled with "extra" sewing items.  Each sewing night instead of packing a bag she could just grab this bag and head out for sewing.

Yes, I Did It Again - Another Archer

I promise it will be the last one for a while, I am a bit tired of sewing blouses and ready to move onto other garments.

I used this Mood Fabrics' white/aqua paisley stretch cotton which is a great price at $5.99/yard

The cotton has the perfect amount of stretch and a nice hand.  You might have noticed flowers, but these are so small that you don't notice them unless you are right next to me.

Fabric Giveaway

After the reason make of this floral blouse, I have decided florals are just not for me.

I am going to give away this crepe - it is a deep purple with orange flowers.  It is 2 yards in length.

the purple is deeper and richer, just didn't photograph well.

If you are interested leave a comment and I will draw on Thursday after 5 pm.
