Plantain Shirt - Style Maker Fabrics


I found a new-to-me fabric source, Style Maker Fabrics and I placed an order for a couple of pieces, one being this jersey knit stripe.  It is so soft and the aqua is such a nice contrast with the black and white.  It sat for just a bit and then I decided it would be a Deer and Doe Plantain t-shirt.  I have made this pattern a few times before and it was one of the Best Patterns of 2014 at Pattern Review

Sewing For My Daughers

Plantain Tee with Short Sleeves

Separates is my word for the month of June, in I need them in my wardrobe.  The emphasis of my separates is tops, more and more tops.  I went through my pattern stash and pulled out several I wanted to make again, the Plantain Tee was my first choice.  I made it before in a long sleeve version.



I love this shirt and I have seen so many on blogs and Instagram which I love too.

Briar Shirt and Maritime Shorts

I know Labor Day is only a few days away but I am feverishly sewing up some of my summer fabric.  With Kaitlyn's wedding and several other family things this summer, June and July saw limited sewing from me.  I am making up for lost time.

Navy is the Theme for Three New Tops

I tend to sew in color families, especially with knits.  I feel it saves time as I don't have to rethread the serger, sewing machine and cover stitch machine.  So today, I am sharing three navy tops.

Stripe Plantain T-shirt


Deer & Doe has a free t-shirt pattern called Plantain and I downloaded it right away.  This week I finally got around to making it.  Here it is on my dressform from an instagram photo
I really like this shirt, it fits beautifully and the flare is just a nice hint of flare without being oversized.
