Sewing For My Daughers

Deer and Doe Plantain Tee with fabric from My Fabric Designs

The week of August 7th, sewing for my youngest two - aka the twins!  Meredith received more than Kaitlyn but it is all good.  The above top is a Deer and Doe Plantain Tee for Meredith.  The fabric is a knit from My Fabric Designs.

I made another Plantain Tee for Meredith, again from My Fabric Designs knit.

Next another Scrub Top for Meredith, Simplicity 1020, made here first.

This one I made the outer pocket seam allowance too big, so the under pocket shows more than I like, but in this top I am calling it a design feature!  Printed fabric is cotton from My Fabric Designs and the purple  knit is from Joann's

Meredith has worn the other scrub top a couple of times and told me all the other nurses love it.  Especially the knit sleeves, which Meredith says is very comfortable.  Her co-workers asked if I would take orders.  Meredith replied, "no, she just sews for her family."  I taught her well!

I went into Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago for a pattern sale.  I checked out the sale racks and found some fabric from $1 and $2 a yard.  This is one of those fabrics and I made Meredith a Florence Kimono

I made the shortest length and I think she will really enjoy this one.

Last up is one top for Kaitlyn and she won't need it for a while,,,, any guesses why?
Megan Nielsen's Cara Maternity Shirt

Yes, it is a maternity shirt, Megan Nielsen's Cara Maternity Shirt in a gray rayon knit from Mood Fabrics.

She won't need it for a couple of months but I had gray in the serger and I was excited, so I made it!

    1. Thanks, my girls like the Plantain, I prefer the Briar. The fit in the shoulders and arms is better for me with the Briar

    1. Thanks, I made that pattern for Erin and she really liked it. I thought I would go ahead and make it, seems like one day you wake up and nothing fits! That top will be good for that day.
