Totally Trendy Tote - #2

I was diligently working on a wool jacket for me until I ran out of supplies.  One thing I do not like to do is switch projects mid-stream but at the same time I did not want to be unproductive. This Totally Trendy Tote found itself pushed up in the queue.  This version is for Meredith but it has to hang in the local quilt shop as a sample first.

The fabric is Honor Roll by Anna Marie Horner along with a Kona Solid

You might recognize this bag, I made one as a gift in December with a green and brown color theme

This time I did have the fabric quilted by the long arm quilter and I just added straight line quilting on the pocket.  I am always amazed how fast a pattern goes together the second time.  Isn't it easier once you know what you are doing.

The hardest thing on this bag was finding a good match on the zipper, the purple blends nicely with floral fabric.

Meredith was super excited for me to get this completed, until I reminded her that it was to hang at the quilt shop for a while!

What about you?  Do you like to switch projects?  Is it easy for you to switch back and forth?

I am hoping to get the jacket finished this week but time will tell, my mom is having shoulder replacement on Thursday.  It is a much needed surgery and my plans are to be with her the end of the week and weekend.

  1. I am like you- i don't like changing projects mid-stream. Unless i am stuck (in need of supplies) and I have time to sew. Can't let time to sew go to waste! Your bag turned out great- I love the colors. Makes me hopeful for spring!
