Thinking of Spring?

Looking at my pictures, I think I might be anxious for spring. Maybe so after a winter storm and bitterly cold temperatures, canceled school and other events. Here is the ice on the trees, pretty in the sunlight, not so pretty if you don't have power. We are the lucky ones, our power has not been interrupted.

Here is some sewing I have completed. First, a new purse, Indygo Junction pattern called The Metropolitan. I used Heather Bailey's Freshcut fabric I purchased in a Charm Pack. I love purchasing charm pack's I can tell which fabric I want to purchase more. The flower pin is from Husqvarna Viking's Embroidery card #162.

Next, on the front sewing is Ottobre Woman, cardigan #18, I used some rib knit and embroidery from Husqvarna Viking Card #162. The ribbon is woven through the eyelets.

There's nothing like the cold to get productive at the sewing machine, huh? The purse is so cute! Freshcut fabric is so pretty and what a great way to use the charm pack. I'm like you. After I thumb through the charm pack a few times, it's easier for me to figure out which prints I like best.

  2. Love the embroidery with the ribbon running through it. Neat idea. I need to check out that card.

  3. Your Metropolitan purse is just so cute. I looked at the pattern on Indygo Junction's website and I thought there fabric selection was horrible and bypassed it. Now, after seeing yours' made up, I may have to rethink it. Nice job.
