Yes, I made another one of these cute coats and a couple more garments for my 2 month old grandson!
So keep reading to see what all I made for the new little man.
So here is my first coat for a granddaughter and it is just so cute. I wanted to sew something a bit different for this little guy. So I went with three different patterns. The overall pattern is Made by Jack's Mum - Over it Alls It was so quick to make, I omitted the front patch pattern piece. I felt simpler was better. These were made in size 3 months, the overalls fit nicely and a bit more growing room.
The fabric for this outfit is from Joann's and was so lucky to find these two that go together. My Joann's has very little fashion fabric in stock at this time.
Last up the is the hat - a freebie Top Knot hat I went between the NB and 3 month size. This was so tight on him but it looked so cute for pictures.
Now back to the coat. Stripe denim from Joann's and I used leftover denim for previous overalls for the details. The lining is a selvage piece from Style Maker Fabrics.
The stripe denim is thick and didn't work for the pockets, just too many layers. I pulled out that lightweight denim and it was perfect. Plus I love the contrast.
Not much more to say about this jacket other than I love it and he will look so cute on it.
This jacket even with all the details really is quick to sew.
Stay tuned - 4 more garments coming all gifts, one each for my four daughters.
Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love them all - he will look so gorgeous. What pattern did you use for the coat? I am so impressed with that. Cheers.
