Carolina Herrera Turquoise Silk/Wool Take Two

Remember this kimono jacket

Well, as I stated on the original post, it was an injustice to the gorgeous fabric from Mood Fabrics' .
Mood Fabrics' silk and wool fabric made into Datura Blouse

So I did some evaluating and searching through all my patterns.  I didn't really have much extra yardage, so I completely un-stitched the jacket.

I went with the Deer and Doe Datura Blouse

which I made on this post.

Here is the front of the blouse, the bodice is gathered a bit funny.  I think it is from handling the fabric so much.

here is the yoke

now the back, I had to piece it to get a section large enough to cut out the two backs.  The two sides look symmetrical, so I am calling it a design feature.

I ran out of thread when hemming this top, so I used some silver snaps I had in my stash.

This top is sooooo much better than the kimono jacket.  It looks better and is so much more "me".

Now what do you think?  I love this pattern, love this fabric and love this color on me.  Is that too many loves in one sentence?  It might be my mood tonight, my babies are home from college for Thanksgiving week.  It is so nice to have them here and it is exceptionally nice to listen to them chat and catch up.

Here is one more picture, I was experimenting with my external flash on my camera

So this was my save for November, I am so happy I rescued this fabric from a garment I would of never worn.

Thanks to Sarah for all the refashioning inspiration.

  9. Your top is so you! Glad you could make something else from the fabric as I understand how it is to make something from fabric you love but garment made does not work for you! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
