Escapade Quilt

One last quilt to show you, at least for awhile.  This one is for me and I have had the fabric for about a year, it was a fat quarter bundle of 15 fabrics.  I just didn't have any inspiration for the fabric until I purchased this quilt pattern

Then I was still uninspired until my friend made a quilt using some osnaburg fabric

The idea was all in place, just needed the time.  Mother Nature answered that in February and March with multiple large snow storms.

Here is the osnaburg as strips between the blocks.

Full size of the quilt with a very bad photograph:

Then as always a picture of the back so you can see the quilting.

This is a super-fast quilt to make, it calls for layer cakes but you can use fat quarters.  Just cutting the layer cakes in this shapes and sewing them together.   It was fun and I liked how the pattern showcased the fabrics.

What is next without the serger?  A tailored coat for me with fabric from Mood, I have had it for a couple months and meant to get it done sooner but you know how that goes.  Happy sewing.

  1. That is really beautiful. Do you use a long arm machine or a regular machine to quilt with?

  2. Lori, you are living the sewing life I want to live! You sew garments for your daughters, yourself and you make beautiful quilts. I need to shadow you for a week and see how you do it! :-)
