Vogue 8597

Description: MISSES' TOP: Close-fitting, pullover tops A, B, C have raglan sleeves and stitched hems. A: below elbow length sleeves. A, B: front extends to form cowl collar. B, C: full length sleeves. C: attached cowl collar

Instructions:  They were easy to follow and the design is so unique.  Take a look at the line drawing and the description for A &B - the drape at the back is part of the front pattern piece.  You sew the center back seam of the drape, sew the sleeves to the back.  Then you sew the front to the sleeves, connecting the back to the drape.  It is like a big half-circle, I had never sewn anything like that before.

Likes/dislikes:  close fitting cowl neck sweater is a like.  I also like the fact you can have darts in view C.  My only dislike is the way Vogue has you turn under the top of the drape and slipstitch this.  You have to position the drape just right so you do not see the edge of this.

Fabric:  My last piece of stretch rayon slub jersey from Fabric.com.  I bought several pieces at the last knit sale.  The only downside, this fabric is a bit thin and I need to wear a cami under the tops.

Conclusion:  Wonderful wardrobe builder of a pattern.  I am going to look for a great piece of fabric - lenghten View C and wear it with a pair of leggings.
