I need some ruffles for winter and this pattern seemed just what I needed.
Just a sweatshirt for winter, using McCall's 7688 in view D but not the tunic/dress length, just the sweatshirt length. My fabric is the softest french terry from LA Finch Fabric - Dusty Pink French Terry
I went with a medium, which is nice for the sweatshirt look but if you want a closer fit, go down a size.
I don't know if you can tell, but on the ruffle, I did not hem it.
Here is the ruffle and the sleeve band. I would change the neckline for future makes - I feel it is too long and my neckline doesn't sit nicely.
This was a quick and easy project but with a fun twist and a bit trendy.
Now that the busy Christmas season is over, I am working on some more time intensive projects. I have the time to sew now so it is fun to work on these harder projects. Now when I don't have much time to sew, I just want to do any quick project.

I thought I'd commented on this last week, Lori, but my comment didn't publish! It was along the lines of "beautiful, cosy sweatshirt, lovely colour", but also I LOVE that your opening line for this post was "I need some ruffles for winter"! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, it is a great winter blues shirt!

ReplyDeleteI continue playing Pokepath TD again and again because each time I learn some new thing. It could be a new combination of units or a new order of upgrades, but there will always be an opportunity to do it better.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic shirt for all ages, and that's all I can Wordle say about it right now. You know, there are many different types of shirts on the market these days, but finding one that feels comfortable when you wear it isn't easy at all, and this shirt completely fulfills that requirement. You can also easily combine it with many different types of pants, and that's the most special thing about this shirt.
