McCall's 7677 - Riley Blake Knit and baby gifts

Time to show some of my Christmas sewing, I have three outfits to share along with a few gift items

First up is two outfits from McCall's 7677

This pattern has a button and loop for closure, which I don't think is a good idea for a baby.   Plus, I am really not very good at sewing that loop!  I  added a placket type closure for two snaps.

The fabric is from The Fabric Fairy and this one is Tree Party Owls by Riley Blake and the pants are Tree Party Mini Floral Pink by Riley Blake

Here are the snaps on the back and this outfit is made in the Small size

I used a free tutorial for the headband with the extra fabric, you can find the tutorial at Coral and Co.

Of course I had to put in a label!

Next up is a short sleeve version and it is in the newborn size

This fabric is also from The Fabric Fairy, the top is Acorn Valley Flutter Knit by Riley Blake

The pants are Acorn Valley Bloom Dot and I used the same placket in the back.

Another cute headband for this little girl.

Next up a boy outfit - using Brindle and Twig's drawstring leggings and the fabric is Motorcycle Rally from The Fabric Fairy

I did do one change - the pattern states to sew buttonholes and insert the drawstring.  I didn't think the mom would like to pull the drawstring tight each time.  Instead I made a casing and inserted the elastic.

The drawstring is just short and sewn on.  The ribbing is from my stash

Next up the Top Knot Hat Pattern and it was easy to make and fun.

I have these labels, so I used them for the little boy.

A couple of cute bibs on my embroidery machine

The design has long stitches, you cut the bobbin thread and then you get this look

The owl has it too!
