Simplicity 8337

Simplicity 8337, view B, a cold shoulder look, made from Mood Fabrics' floral jersey

I just can't stop making these cold shoulder tops and I another cold shoulder pattern I am working on.

I love this look, it is fun and trendy and I want to be part of the trend.

This time it is a knit pattern, Simplicity 8337, a knit top with bodice and sleeve variations.  For my fabric I used this beautiful Mood Fabrics' black and red floral printed jersey, which is just so wonderful.  It feels great and has a good drape.

Things to note with this pattern, there is a center front seam.  Simplicity probably designed it this way for View A with the front ruffles and to make the v-neck easier to construct.

Also, I made a medium but I took it in quite a bit.

Also, you can see my band on the top of the sleeve is a bit stretched.  The pattern envelope shows this band hugging the shoulder.  Honestly, I like the way it looks in my photo.

Some changes for next time
I am making between a small and a medium
I will eliminate the center front seam

I have been working on my knit tops this summer and trying out some different patterns, well this one might become part of the rotation for a basic t-shirt.  This Simplicity pattern has the option, View D, of regular sleeves.  I really like how this one fits and with the slimming the fit of the body it could be a perfect t-shirt.

I did add an inch to the length of this, just the usual change for me.
