McCall's 5985 - My Fabric Designs

McCall's 5895 using My Fabric Designs custom fabric for a beautiful scrub top

Here is my Meredith, in her new scrub top.  She will be graduating in May with her BSN and is need of scrub tops.  Thanks to My Fabric  Designs  and all their great fabric choices, Meredith selected a fabric that is so uniquely her!

Meredith looked through the Big 4 pattern companies for a scrub top pattern she liked and
McCall's 5895 was the one she liked the best.  I liked the neckline and the bust darts.

Thanks to My Fabric Designs Swatch Book , we were able to touch and feel the fabric first.  Meredith and I went with the cotton and then she went looking for a design for her first scrub top.  She went with Diamond Feathers (just search for it).  Also, you can search any subject you might like and get a nice range of choices.  Now if you don't see just want you want, then design it yourself!  Just upload the image and have custom printed fabric.

Here is one of the pockets,, I made a smaller pocket inside of the large pocket.  This was Meredith's request and she showed me a RTW scrub top with the same feature.

Here is the back.  I need to work on the back a bit.  I made a size 10 for her and it was just a bit tight in the shoulders.  I let out as much as I could and it feels better.

I love the neckline and it was so easy to make.  Also, the bust darts give great shaping.

So the changes for the next one

1.  Meredith wants it shortened by 3 inches, she says this one is much too long
2.  I don't think I want to make a size 12 for Meredith but I want to make a broad back adjustment.

Thanks, My Fabric Designs for letting me create such a perfect top for Meredith.

Disclosure I received this  fabric as an allowance from My Fabric Designs. I was able to select the fabric and what I wanted to create from the fabric.  The opinions of the fabric are all mine.
