Happy October 3rd and
welcome to the last day of Style Maker Fabrics'  Fall Style Blog Tour 2016 and it is my BIRTHDAY!  I am so excited to be a part of the is tour and can't wait to show you my new clothes!

My favorite birthday present is clothes and what is better than beautiful fabric that you can create into spectacular garments!?!

Let's talk about this Chestnut Faux Suede Fabric and how absolutely gorgeous it is.  Michelle  was telling me about it and I knew I wanted to give it a try,My initial thought was a longer coat but upon arrival of this yummy yardage, my mind started going in a different direction.  In fact, I just couldn't help running my hand over this fabric and I turned it over to see the back.  At that moment the lightbulb started to glow even brighter.

I had a flashback to my teenage years, working in my grandfather's western store.  All those leather coats with fabulous yokes and I knew what I was going to make.  I decided to use the wrong side of the suede for the yokes and went digging in my pattern drawer.  I found the perfect pattern, Simplicity 1066

That pattern couldn't have been more perfect for my idea and this fabulous fabric.

While constructing this jacket, I was able to really take my time.  Thanks, Michelle for letting me be the last stop on the tour.  I used care when pressing this jacket, press cloth always.  I couldn't let anything happen to this great fabric.

This fabric all was used for skirt by Erica  and a Moto Jacket by Helena

As I was taking my time, I thought of extra details I wanted to add to my jacket.  I used the embroidery feature on my machine to embroidery a "L" on the center back.

Then I decided I need to add piping to the lining of the jacket.  I had just enough scraps from my blouse for the piping.

Brown buttons with a hint of red, were perfect for the sleeves and front.

I am so in love with this new jacket and hubby just kept commenting how good it looks.  That was just on the hanger, it looks amazing on!  My grandfather would be proud of my handiwork.

One thing you might notice in these pictures, my collar on left side is turned up.  Sorry,  I should of  looked in the car window one last time.  Don't let this distract you from the star of the garment, the fabric.  Sorry!

Now onto the blouse made from Cotton Gauze and this might be my new favorite blouse fabric. It was so easy to cut, sew and press,  I went with Butterick 6378 for the blouse and can't wait to make more of this pattern.

Michelle always does such an amazing job selecting fabrics for the season.  They are always on trend for colors, garments and styles.  This pumpkin color gauze is only one of many in the

The construction for this blouse is straight forward and easy.  I have made this once before and love how quickly it goes together.  I cannot wait to make it again.

I want to write a bit about Michelle and express to you how the amazing factor of not only her fabric but her customer service.  She responds so quickly to emails and Instagram direct messages whenever I have a question about fabric or need her to suggest a fabric for a specific pattern.  Michelle has a great eye for all of this and through her talent and ability I have made some amazing garment.s

I want to thank Michelle for including me in this tour as well as the Spring Tour
