Updated Bookcases

Sewing has been slow around here - too many track meets and a nice abcessed tooth for me.

I have my Cynthia Rowley jacket finished and pictures will be soon (another track meet tomorrow)

I did finish updating my bookcase in the family room before my tooth started pounding with pain (not that bad but the past weekend sure wasn't too fun).

The before picture with one shelf changed:

After, it is a nice change for spring and summer.  I am enjoying the bit of color.

I used foam core board in the back of the shelves and just wrapped quilting cotton around it.

  1. I love your shelves backing - itsets off the all white display beautifully - I've just had a load of tooth trouble myself, so I do sympathise. Hope you're feeling fine again soon :)

  2. I know what you mean about track meets! My daughter ran track when she was in high school and those meets took FOREVER! Have fun! :-)

  3. Your shelf backing can be changed with the seasons--what a good idea. Oh, nothing like tooth pain. Hope you get it fixed, or removed, and feel better soon.

  7. Love it! I will tell you have saved two or three ideas that I have plans of stealing from some of your decorating posts, IF we ever get done remodelling and I can start doing my 'thing' around the house again. I am loving this idea for tying in a bookcase that I am planning to use in JH's room, I bought alot of the curtain fabric from MGQS and have enough to use for this as well, I may call and bend your ear a bit, when we get to the point of doing this! DH offered that he has a bottle of "medicine" in purple bag that will help or you just won't care anymore......hope the tooth is better, but if not, guess he is offering to 'share' LOL :)
