Burda 6/2008 #124

Erin liked this shirt from New York and Company

and asked me to make her a shirt like this one.  I thought about drafting my own pattern then remembered one in a Burda Magazine.  Off I went digging through all the line drawings and I found 6/2008 #124

Pattern Description: Asymmetrical V-neck tshirt with side gathers.

Sizing: 34 to 42

Instructions:  They were easy to follow and the pattern pieces were clearly marked for the gathering.

Likes/Dislikes:  I liked the pattern was just what I needed to recreate a similar look to the NY&Co top.  The fit and the finished look of the top were likes too.

Fabric:  An ITY knit from Gorgeous Fabrics

Changes:  I went from the v-neck to a round neck, elimnated the uneven hem and used the cap sleeves from Simplicity 4076.  Also, I ended the gathering 1" from the hemline, I didn't want to stitch the hem through any gathering.

Conclusion: Another fun top for my daughter. She told me she liked it and I am waiting for her to wear it and see if I need to make any adjusments before I make another one.

I have one more top for Erin and it needs hemming, then it is my turn!
