Mood Fabrics' Floral Anorak -McCall's 6531

  I have a confession to make, I love to make jackets, from outerwear to blazers to cardigans. I love to have a closet full of outerwear options for any kind of weather condition. So when this Mood Fabrics' Soft Floral Outerwear appeared online, I knew it had to be shipped to my home.

This is the pattern for my next Mood Sewing Network project using Soft Purple Floral Outerwear - the description 

"This polyester taffeta-like fabric would make a stylish trenchcoat or anorak, with its soft, washed floral print. Pretty shades of purple and charcoal. Crisp like a taffeta, medium-weight. "

  I feel it the fabric has a bit of water repellent tendencies and with the medium-weight will help keep the wind from cutting right through the jacket.  This is just what I need for a spring rain type coat.

I am not going to line this coat but instead use flat fell seams throughout.  This feature will be particularly nice with the rolled up sleeves.
