Navy Blouse with Gold Brocade Cropped Trousers

This outfit started with two different fabrics ordered 3 months apart, first I ordered this Mood Fabrics'

Blue Gray Solid Suiting,  thinking it would be a jacket but the fabric is lightweight and it sat on the shelf while I contemplated what it would become. I washed this fabric on gentle and felt it would be a perfect blouse, dark navy with gold buttons. I wanted a dressier blouse pattern and fitted, so I went with a favorite, Butterick 5526

I found this Mood Fabrics' Elegant Italian Brocade in my cart and soon on my doorstep.

I knew what I wanted to make, after all, the description dared me, and I quote, "or dare to make a pair of cropped trousers. " So I did, using Burda Style 6981 The blouse went together beautifully, the trousers. had a few challenges.

Another White Shirt Butterick 5526

This is my TNT shirt pattern (made here in  white and here in  gingham), I love how it sews up and how it feels on.  Last October, I purchased a thicker white shirting with nice stretch and finally got around to sewing it up.  The fabric is thick and a bit stiff, so I hope after multiple washings it softens a bit.

Here it is on the dressform

Here on me with my Burda 7447 red pants and a polk dot cardigan from Old Navy.  I was heading to a friend's baby shower.

and here is another one - all the white snow everywhere is wreaking havoc on my pictures color balance.  This one is better color but the cardigan is all messed up.

Thanks again for all the congratulations and best wishes on the grandson.  They are home now and we stopped by today to see him for just a bit.

Off to sew.
