Simplicity 8982 - Valentine's Day top

You know you are a sewist when the night before a holiday you decide you need a new garment.  That is exactly what I did at 9 pm on February 13th.

Our temperatures are so cold this week, today was -21 with the windchill when we woke up.  I knew just the fabric and pattern to help keep my warm.  Simplicity 8982 is just such a great pattern, the top with the mock neckline, statement sleeves, extra long cuffs and a nicely fitted body of the shirt.  I have made this before .  Now a funny coincidence, the fabric for both my Simplicity 8982 came from
Mily Mae Fabrics!   I used the Alpaca Pink Polka Dots, sold out sorry but there are several other options in the alpaca category  This fabric is the softest and does have a bit of thickness to it.

Another thing I am loving is pink with red or pink with burgundy in fashion.  So today, I went with my red combat boots.

Here is a close up of the sleeve cuggs but a bit blurry.

My only change was to add 2" to the height of the mock turtleneck, this is a better height for me.

If you don't have this pattern, pick it up.  You will love how quickly it goes together and how great it looks!
