Misty Top - Designer Panel
This fabric and pattern combination has been waiting to be made for a year! In fact, there are several pieces in my collection that need to be made up.
My mother-in-law was down just before quarantine and we went through my fabrics. I told her my plans for each piece, while doing that I realized how had much more fabric than I thought. It was eye-opening and I decided then to really work through those fabric. This fabric is from
Style Maker Fabrics' Designer Magnolia Stripe Stretch Sateen (sold out). It might be a bit stiff for the Misty Top by Sew Altered Style but I had a plan for some wardrobe ideas and I am staying with my plan
I do have my straps a bit long, so I will bring them up a bit. I didn't follow the pattern for this one, I just stitched the straps down without inserting them in the facing. I thought this would be easier for the first go around, adjustments will be so much easier. You can see from this back view, it is low on the side.
I love this pattern by Sew Altered Style, thanks Katie and Mac! It went together perfectly and has two views for great options and the pattern includes cup sizes. I do plan on slimming it down from the bust to the bottom, it is a bit big. Here is the description
The Misty Top & Dress is a simple garment that packs a big punch. With a deep V-neck and multiple strap and length options, Misty is equally at home both on the playground and at a dinner party. Views A and B feature criss-cross spaghetti straps and a low back as either a hip-length top or a dress. Views C and D feature thick straps and a higher back perfect for everyday wear, also as either a top or a dress. The neckline and armholes are finished with a full facing for sleek look. Bust darts and included A/B and C/D cup bodice pieces help streamline fitting.
Here is my plan for the wardrobe, this Fulton Cardigan needed more options for a top and the yellow in the flowers work perfectly with my yellow Fulton
Here you can see the mix of the fabric patterns.
I had a comment about missing my furry friend - here is Junior ready for the camera
