NIta Wrap Skirt - Indiesew Fall Skirt Week

Indie Sew Fall skirt week - Nita Wrap skirt

I am happy to be participating in the Indiesew Fall Skirt Week and showing off my newly completed Nita Wrap Skirt.  The Nita Wrap is a  fitted wrap skirt with an angled front panel, three lengths, and three closure options.   You can tell I went with the regular waistband and front button closure.

Let's get right to those skirt close-ups.....

I went with the midi-length and used the front piece that is for left front, called the full coverage.  Now I didn't just use this piece for the left front but both fronts.   My lifestyle is one of picking up two little guys, walking up lots of stairs for work and at home, so more coverage in a wrap skirt seemed like a good idea.

Not to mention the wind!

When I think of fall, I think of cardigans and that is the first thing I grab for the transition into cooler temperatures.  Then the second thing I grab is a pair of booties.

Now back to the Nita Skirt, which is fabulous to sew.  I loved making it, such a relaxing process and excellent instructions.  You can line this one or omit the lining, which I did.  My fabric is a mystery blend from Joann's, just a hint of gray and black check.

Fitting on this is most important in the hips and the waist has some room for play.  After all it is a wrap, just sew your buttonhole, try on the wrap and mark your buttonhole placement.  As per the line drawing you want the wrap to go over the waist dart, but you have a bit of room to adjust.  After I had the button sewn on, one more time to try on and mark the snap placement and I was finished.

Then when it becomes one of those glorious days, just shed the cardigan and the wrap skirt keeps you so stylish and chic.
