Burda 7447 and 6981 using Black and White Italian Cotton Woven

Yes, it is another pair of pants, I just can't help myself. I love this Burda pattern, well this time is is a combination of Burda 7447 and Burda 6981 (using the cut of the legs only).  Truthfully it isn't really the pattern, it is the great fabric at Mood Fabrics, I can find something wonderful all the time.  Take this Italian Cotton Woven

Something about black and white, just draws me in, so classic in nature.

After wearing each Burda pattern, I decided I really like the fit and cut of Burda 7447 and the leg shape of Burda  6981, combining the two to get just the style I wanted.  Isn't that one of the greatest things about sewing your own clothes?  You can get just want you want, well, that and all the great fabric and garments that are unique to you.  In reality, I could go on and on for the joys of sewing, but everyone of us have reasons that we love it.

Back to this fabric, it was mush easier to match than my last pair. The other side is white with black, so I could see exactly where I wanted to match all the seams.  I am very pleased how this all turned out, just look at that print matching smile!

I have learned not to cut out the side pockets until after I have cut out the front pants.  I like to lay the fabric under each leg and line up the pattern piece and get a nice pocket.

I used some black quilting cotton (from stash)  for the inside of the waistband and pockets, this helped eliminate some of the bulk.   Each of my welt pockets turned out so nicely, usually I have one which turns out better than the other but not on this black and white pants.  I do need to get better at matching my welts, but with sewing there is always something to learn or improve upon.

This fabric was one of the specials of the day, so really watch those emails, you can get a great deal.  I have some Red Cotton Sateen that is going to be a jacket, I think it will look great with these pants, too.

I have a furry friend, who likes to be in my pictures and with the tripod and self-timer, I just don't have much choice but to pet him and let him be part of the photoshoot!

I have this same fabric. I made a blazer with it. I used the white side of the fabric for the side pieces on my jacket.
This fabric was wonderful to work with. I love your pants. Together we have a very unique suit.
