New BWOF and Bags and Valentine Project

Now, I haven't been doing any garment sewing, just bag sewing. Here is a couple, I get so fixated on using all the pieces/scraps of the fabric, I just keep making and making the same colorway.

Then this one, fun spring colors. I need that on this 25 degree day.

Finally, I made this one time, Valentine pockets and thought it was cute. I am going to make a few more, cute for Valentine's candy.

How nice of Burda to publish an issue just for you, Lori! Really, a few look just like you -- e.g. recent safari jacket you made.

I especially like the natural/beige pairings in this issue -- and the Burberry (I think it was) skirt on the cover. In quick walk through the mall today I also some of the dramatic black and white prints.

  3. I was thinking the same thing about that petite pattern. I would trace it out and tape the pattern together (I don't add the sas until I cut it out) I don't get pin scrapes with tape. I carefully butt the pattern edges and tape, then cut it apart. Anyway, see where your waist, underarm, and bust fall in comparison to the pattern and then just split it apart, probably above the bust, above the waist and perhaps below the waist, depending on how long you want it. Add the amounts you need. The sleeve needs to be split and added to also. I have a petite dd and I did not find that petites are any narrower just shorter.

  6. Oh, it is interesting to read that you have the same outfits we have in our German version. The first pattern is perfect to create endless different outfits in different fabrics. I also like the skirt in the current magazine made of the same fabric.

  7. First off; Fabulous purses!

Then the patterns: The first jacket, as sewn, would go perfect with something that's on its way to you ;) I can see you in all of these patterns btw.

  8. Lori..about that petite pattern...

You don't change it at all! Instead, you sew it for little petite me!

  9. Lori, per our email conversation, why don't you also email Kashi at MetroTextiles@aol.com and see if he has any lace like this? Send him the photo too. Worth a shot.

  10. I am really liking more and more of the patterns in Feb09 BWOF. Like you every time I look at it I find more. I really love the lace jacket and on the prowl for some nice lace fabric that will not break the bank!
