Cielo Top- Short Sleeve

Last installment in Cielo Top week and this time the short sleeve version with a cropped length.

This is the basic version with the short sleeves from a cotton blend from The Confident Stitch and I had just enough to make this version.  The fabric has a great linen woven look and a pretty pink-lavender color.

I used my altered pattern for the extra 2.5" of length but after trying it on I decided to crop that length off.  With the short sleeves I felt the top looked like a boxier shape so the cropped length just looked right.

I really don't have much more to add but this will be a fun layering piece.

This cardigan is not the best choice, the sleeves are too tight for the bigger sleeve shape of this Cielo.  My next choice will be a fuller sleeved cardigan.

To review here is my burgundy linen blend Cielo

I hope you enjoyed my unofficial Cielo Top week, I sure had fun making them.  Most of all I enjoyed seeing how the different fabrics work with this top.  The linen-blend was my favorite fabric, the drape is just so perfect.

  1. It's amazing how different your tops look even from the same pattern. That's why I sew from my TNT patterns all the time and no one realizes they are from the same pattern as different fabrics create a different look. Your tops are inspiring. Karen
