Blackwood Cardigan - Fabrics by the Yard Floral Liverpool Knit

Thanks to Fabrics by the Yard, I have another fabulous fabric to create into
a garment for me.  I was drawn to this coral color and knew it would be a statement piece

This Liverpool fabric (FT396) has such a wonderful blend of colors, the coral, rust, green, and cream.  I wanted a garment that would show off the fabric

The Blackwood Cardigan by Helen's Closet seemed a great choice.  This fabric is 97% polyester and 3% spandex and described as a stretchy heavy knit fabric, so the fabric-pattern combination was a good one.  The website describes this knit as heavy but it is more medium weight, in my opinion.

I added an extra inch to the width of the band, I wanted just a bit more width for this version.

I also do the pocket a bit differently, no topstiching knit to knit for me.  I cut the pocket bigger and baste to the bottom, side seam and the front band seam.  Another change on this version, I added piping between the pocket and the top band.  The piping adds a nice contrast to the pocket. Let me step back, I do a bit of topstitching.  At the top of the pocket I stitch about 1.5" at the top on each side.   Since the pocket is bigger it wants to flop around, adding that topstitching holds the pocket in place.

Fabrics by the Yard has a great selection of Liverpool knits, in fact, 5 pages of options.  I am loving this Liverpool fabric and the cardigan I made from the fabric, another one that looks like spring and summer, much like my wrap top

This fabric was so easy to sew and it washed beautifully.

My theme during quarantine has been sew one item for me and then sew an item for each granddaughter.  So from the Liverpool not used in my cardigan

I used a knit top with a big ruffle from my closet, I never wore it and the color matched perfectly.  I cut off the ruffle for the flutter sleeves and ruffle bottom.

For the other granddaughter a Brindille & Twig Raglan Sweatshirt (free pattern) again that knit shirt used for the hood lining

Thank you Fabrics by the Yard for reaching out and letting me sew your fabrics, I appreciate the opportunity.

Disclosure - The fabric was gifted to me for this post but the opinions are mine.

My name is Michael DeBruin and I am from the USA, it's been a while since my lover's attitude changed from being the caring type she has been to me, but later turned out not to be caring at all. But not long, I later discovered that my lover was having an affair with someone else. and also she told me she doesn't need me after all we pass through then a friend told me about a spell caster. that with the spell I will get back my woman, I took his cell number then called him and also what's-app him which he reply to me and I did some sacrifices to the spell man and he bought the items for me which he used for the sacrifices and later called me that before 48 hours my love will come back to me and now we are more in love with each other than ever. you can reach him on WhatsApp +2347012841542 or reach him via mail ; emutemple@gmail.com , my lover returned back and broke up with the other guy she was having a relationship with...
