Baby Blouses - Pfaff Creatvie Icon Exclusive Stitches

Stacking stitches and Double Ribbon Stitches on Pfaff Creative Icon as a decorative embellishment

I have two sweet little granddaughters and have started sewing for them a bit.  What better way to use up the extras from projects plus play with some unique features from the Pfaff Creative Icon.

These are unique stitches and I used a couple of those on these tops for my sweet girls

From the Pfaff Creative Icon Brochure:
Unique stitch technique – Triple Ribbon Stitches
 Floating Stitches
 Radiant Stitches
 Lace Edge
 Stacking Stitches

You can watch a Pfaff video on these

I used a double ribbon stitch on one chambray blouse and a stacking stitch on the other.  The blouse is a pattern from Simplicity's Baby Gear line, this one is Simplicity 8562 view C

Let's start with the Double Ribbon Stitch for the one on the left.  I went with the double ribbon as I only had two colors for ribbon that would work, so double it is!

I used 1/8" ribbon as specified on the help menu on the Pfaff Creative Icon

Here is how it works and you don't use the foot pedal, you use the start/stop button.  This is amazing, the Creative Icon stops when it is time to fold the ribbon over - I love this!

And here is the back as the stitching progresses, my double ribbon stitch has a decorative stitch in the middle.

This stitch is really easy to do, just remember the start/stop button (yes I forgot on my practice one and the machine doesn't stop!) and make sure you are folding over the right ribbon.  These two things will make it so easy and you will have a beautiful embellishment on your garment

The pants are from the same pattern in a knit from Hobby Lobby.  The pattern states capri but I will make them shorter next time, in fact I think I am going to make them just below the knee, this will show off the cute ruffle.

You might of noticed, I added another decorative stitch to the each side of the ribbon stitch.  I did mirror it on one side so it would frame the ribbon stitch.

I even used a decorative stitch to hem the sleeves

Now to the stacking stitches, which are so fun,.  You need to sew these in the pairs (boxes around each) - so 1 and 2 go together, etc.  I went with 29 and 30, you stitch 29 first then 30.

I added these stitches in the hoop and did these two plus two more on each side for a combined look.

Yes, using some scraps from my top (this blog post) and I used the stacking stitch which reflected that fabric.  Also, using some of the colors with the embroidery thread.

So pretty and dainty.

I did not use the stitching in the casing on this blouse.

I am so happy I embellished these two tops with these beautiful stitches.  The were fun to sew and I love how they look on the tops.  Working on this small scale was a great way to try out these stitches and do a bit of learning.  Now I am thinking of all the garments I can add ribbon stitches!  I will have to add to my ribbon collection.

I love making these little garments, I use to sew for my girls and it is fun to sew for their girls.  I have lots of ideas spinning in my head - garments for me and garments for these little girls.
