McCall's 6996 - Style Maker Fabrics' Scuba Knit

One more quick project, a cardigan from a great scuba knit

This is McCall's 6996, which I have made before in the velvet and this time made View A, minus the gathers  in the center back neckline

The fabric is Style Maker Fabric's Scuba Knit and I think it will go well from the last of winter and into spring.  I am saying that hoping spring is coming!

Here you can see where I didn't add the gathers.  I just like how the band turns down.

This scuba knit has some great olive green, which will go with a couple of tops in my closet, too.  I also think a chambray shirt will look nice with this, too.  This pattern goes together quickly but does take just short of 2 yards of fabric.  I didn't do a good job on the layout and had to add a 10" piece in the middle of the band.  The fabric has enough design that this doesn't show too much.

  1. This looks really nice. Did you sew it on your serger?

  2. I just made this pattern up for the first time and I was wondering how I could get rid of the gathers. I don't mind them but I also don't need them. I'm totally doing this next time. I love how the fabric on yours works as a neutral but is also interesting. The length is perfect, too.

  3. That fabric is gorgeous!! I love anything with a marble design to it. Love that you let the fabric be the star by choosing a simple silhouette
