Can you love a garment the entire time you are making the garment? Well, that was my experience while working on my Lonetree Jacket
This year started off with learning a new accounting software system at work. I really find it very fascinating, how the programmers wrote the system and all the requirements needed by the user. The programmers thought of everything, ease of use, how to import all the information from the old system and all the requirements needed to make the accounting package work so smoothly. Why am I mentioning this? Well, while making this jacket my thoughts went to the pattern and instructions. Allie thought of everything.
Great pockets
Beautiful casing and drawstring
Pretty cuffs
Gorgeous zipper front
Perfect Hood
Allie even includes the "Sew Your Own" label. I had to include both of them.
And she wrote excellent instructions and I found them so easy to follow. This pattern does take some time to make the jacket. The first night I taped the PDF pattern together, next night I cut out the fabric, another night of sewing and then about 4 hours on Saturday. The time invested into this Utility Jacket is so worth it, the end results are stunning.
I loved every step of making this jacket and the fabric was perfect. I was so fortunate to get one of the kits in the IndieSew Store (sorry sold out) but they included everything.
A Lonetree Jacket and Vest kit with a 14 oz. slate grey twill fabric, a metal zipper, cord stops, and snaps.
So keep your eyes open for this kit, it really made the sewing process easy. No hunting for cord stops and the perfect color zipper!
I love the coat zipped up and the drawstring pulled and those beautiful cord stops in place
or the zipper opened
I love to sew, always have and always will. My mind races with the possibilities my sewing machine and I can create with great patterns and beautiful fabric. I am so grateful for the sewing community and their sharing of projects and love of this craft. So thanks to all of you for sharing your sewing and love of sewing, I deeply appreciate it.
