Gift Sewing Day 1 - Merry Pillows

For the last week, I have been sewing Christmas gifts and I have so many finished.  This week I am going to share what I have been up sewing.

The first is two pillows for Meredith and Kaitlyn's  birthday.  Their birthday is the 11th but we celebrated this past Saturday, so these gifts were first on my list.

I was inspired by this  quilted pillow on Pinterest and changed it up just a bit.

I used a charm pack cut into 2.5" squares, an envelope back and I did binding on the edges.

I was so happy to get these done for the girls, this was a year when they knew all their presents.  This isn't like me, I love for people to be surprised!

I wasn't done with handmade Christmas theme gifts for them.  I made them each table runners, too.
I had a charm pack in my Fat Quarter Shop's Sew Sampler box and it was a very cute and youthful Christmas theme.  A quick and easy table runner would be perfect, and of course Pinterest was a great resource, with this one
The days are so short now, so indoor and night time photos were all taken for this post.  Only a couple really turned out for the blog but you get the idea
