Custom Apron

Custom apron made from My Fabric Designs heavy twill

Summer is coming and you know what that means, right?  Wedding season!  I was thinking about special gift for the bride and what could be more custom than special fabric.

At My Fabric Designs you can pick from their designs or upload your own.  Well, for the bride you could upload a design from the wedding invitations, or her flowers or text or well, you get the idea.  This would definitely be an one-of-a-kind gift.

I have no weddings this summer but I thought it would be fun to make Kaitlyn an apron for a 7 month anniversary present .  I went with this butterfly-flower inspired design in heavy cotton twill.  Kaitlyn is getting very excited about summer and flowers for their yard.  The butterfly-flower theme seemed very appropriate.

Now you can find lots of free apron patterns online and I went with the
Pleated Apron from Sew 4 Home and this is the type of apron Kaitlyn prefers, a full apron with the bodice and skirt.

I used a couple of quilting cottons to coordinate with the custom printed fabric.

The apron went together very quickly and is fully lined which makes a very neat and professional looking apron.

See it even looks great in the kitchen!

It was my intention to get Kaitlyn to model this apron but we kept forgetting to do it when she was home!  The apron has been completed  for two weeks and I decided to be the stand in model!

Disclosure I received this  fabric as an allowance from My Fabric Designs. I was able to select the fabric and what I wanted to create from the fabric.  The opinions of the fabric are all mine.
