Navy Women's Raglan Sweatshirt

Girls in the Garden - Stylish Fabrics used to make the Women's Raglan by Patterns for Pirates

After my Vogue 1329 dress, I needed a quick project and I had this sweatshirt cut out and ready to sew up.  The pattern is Women's Raglan by Patterns for Pirates

I have made this pattern before, in a royal and black combination and it seems to be my go-to item on a weekend.  It is a good mix of comfy and stylish.

My fabric is from a new-to-me place, Stylish Fabric but I ordered this fabric from their Etsy Store.  One of the items I ordered in addition to this fabric, was these swatch cards.  These have been wonderful to have and I have used them on several occasions.  Don't you think color match is one of the hardest things when ordering online?   With these cards, I found the perfect navy for the print in the sweatshirt.

I tend to make this pattern just a bit bigger, in winter I layer it with a button shirt.  A mental note, if I want it only as a sweatshirt, I am going to go down a size.  This pattern has a longer length, so note that if you need to make adjustments.

Super cute! I'm giggling a bit because after making my fall/winter sewing list last night, it's heated up today with a high of 88. So fall sewing feels pretty silly! But you're so smart to prepare for the fall before it hits- you'll be ready! :)

    1. This might be the only fall garment for awhile. We are 87 today! It is hard to sew for cool/cold weather when the AC is still on.

  4. Cute sweatshirt! I really want to get a start on fall sewing, but it's just been so warm out in my neck of the woods that I can't get my head in the game!
