Distractions

Okay, Beth had a wonderful post on Monday. This post was all about decorating and she provided several links. Well, suffice to say I was hooked and explored these decorating blogs for hours. I loved the fall and Halloween decorating, plus all the inspiration from the dollar and Dollar Tree stores. I went to one today and found some items. Fall items are virtually gone from these stores and Christmas is taking over.

I did buy a frame and used this tutorial from Joys of Home to make this:

College dd#2 is home for a mid-term break and she commented on how cute my picture was. This is the same girl who commented on the dress on my dressform (pictures coming tomorrow) and she asked her dad if he needed a soda. When he said yes, she went and got it. I do believe my little freshman is happy to be home. What do you think?

Oh, back to the tutorial, the Joys of Home blog is incredible. I have read and read that one, she has a wonderful sense of decorating style. Don't some people just have this talent?

I also put this together, it needs a bit more. Maybe I can get to another Dollar Tree this weekend. Speaking of Dollar Trees, you can order in bulk from Dollar Tree Direct, I am going to look over the wedding section for dd#1.

I went by Joann's, too, bought some cotton shirting, a sweater knit, lining for a jacket and purse handles. I am shopping at Fashionista Fabric right now, Melody is having a fantastic sale.

  6. Love your fall decorations - they look so nice. You are giving me inspiration! I know what you mean about Fall being about gone and are giving way to Christmas decorations. It seems to happen earlier every year.
