Toaster Sweater in Ponte

Toaster Sweater in a ponte knit

Another Toaster Sweater for me

As a reminder this was my first one

Which I actually, like the first one better.  I think it is the fabric on this one, a very nice ponte from Mood Fabrics.

I really liked this one as I looked at it on me and in the mirror but there is a but!  I don't like looking at it in the photos.  It looks sloppy and more like a sweatshirt and not a cute sweater.

The best thing to do when I feel like this about a garment is to hang it in the closet for a couple of weeks.  Then I will give it a second chance and see how I feel about it then!

  1. Love the colour of this one. I do hope that it grows on you as it hangs in the closet.

  2. I love the look of the toaster pattern but am questioning my choice of fabric. The shortened and stacked neck on your toaster #1 does not look floppy as in toaster #2. Could the floppy neck problem be solved with interfacing?

  3. Thank about this post. About the Toaster... I made it in a very firm sweat shirting and it looks great. But there is little stretch. So the collar stands up reality nicely and it does not look sloppy but it is a Bear to get off! I then made it in a softer fabric and it feels better and it is easy to take it off... but when I look at the photo of me with it on...... I have the same feeling as you. I am not giving up! One more try with a firm Ponte and a collar that is 1/2 to 3/4 in height as the pattern. We will see! Mie
