Simplicity 8716

Simplicity 8176 in cotton sateen

A skirt but only modeled by me, this one is going to Kaitlyn.

I used this beautiful Mood Fabrics' cotton stretch sateen and Simplicity 8176 which might be one of the better styled pattern envelopes I have seen.

I made the skirt in a size 10 and the waist was a bit too big for Kaitlyn.  I already had taken the waistband off  once.  The second time was just perfect for the gathers and I didn't want to redo it a second time.  I did put a bit of elastic in the back to make it fit just right.  That is why I could model this skirt, the elastic helped it fit me but it looks much cuter on her.

A few close ups on me, the side view

One thing I really liked the instructions for the side zipper and the side pocket.  You can see the zipper and the pocket here in this picture

So if you need a quick and stylish skirt to make, this pattern is perfect.  Kaitlyn wore it last week and said she received lots of compliments.  I was so happy she took a quick picture for me
