Julia Cardigan in Garnet

Julia Cardigan in knit from Fabric Mart

Time for take two on my Julia Cardigan, the first one was in a leopard knit.  I have been working my way through some fabric piles.  I had a pile of knits on the floor and I am happy to say that pile is almost all sewn up!  This garnet color rayon knit came from Fabric Mart a few months ago.
I had three yards of this fabric and part of it went toward a Plantain tee for Kaitlyn.  It is her favorite top, I think she had 5 or 6 now!

I had enough leftover to make this Julia cardigan and it is a perfect little cardigan for those fall days.  A bit of cool in the air but not time for a long sleeve sweater.

The collar is a one piece, so you can see the wrong side and your hem.  I am going to always double the fabric so the wrong side doesn't show.  I state this provided I have enough fabric.  This garnet one I just squeaked out of the yardage remaining.

Speaking of this garnet color, I might call it Marsala, one of the Pantone colors for Fall 2015.  Take a look at this article, Marsala is #7.  I know this is a simple top to make, but whenever I get to sew and make a garment, it is a good day.  What is your favorite quick garment to make?

  1. This is a very pretty & versatile cardigan . I need to get going & try this pattern . I'm so hesitant as to the type of knit but I need to just jump right in. Your version is really nice .

  2. Love this color...it is one of my favorites. I remember seeing this pattern and loved it but haven't tried it yet. It looks like it would be a great staple. You look so polished and put together in yours!

  3. This is so cute! I love the color on you! Let's see, for quick makes, I like the Grainline Linden or the Papercut Undercover Hood... they're so quick and satisfying!
