Pinwheel Quilt

My last post for 2014, a quilt that was completed about 6 weeks ago.  I finally had two people at home to hold it up and a pretty day for pictures.  This combination has been hard to find.

This pinwheel quilt is made from two Scrumptious layer cakes and some Kona Snow yardage.  I did remove all the solids from the layer cake and a couple of prints that read mostly light background.

My local quilt shop had a class on this pinwheel technique and I really enjoy the social aspect of classes with other fellow sewers - so I signed right up.

Here is a couple ways to do a pinwheel

The quilting pattern the longarm quilter used is Baptist Fan, the first time I had used this one but love it on this quilt.

On a year-end, vacation, holiday sewing note.  This year I really took the last two weeks off for the most part from work (had to go in a a couple of days), spent time with family, did a bit of sewing (mostly quilting), rearranged furniture, cleaned/organized closets (including donating clothing), slept late, watched movies and just relaxed.  I am feeling very refreshed and ready to ring in 2015

Happy New Year and thanks so much for reading and commenting on my blog, I really appreciate it.

  5. What fun it would be to snuggle up in that quilt! I really like the edge to edge look with the pinwheel pattern. It gives it a timeless look.
