My Twins - Super Quilters

Meredith and Kaitlyn were busy over the summer making quilts, doing an amazing job.  My job?  First to space them out heading to the long arm quilter so the budget didn't get hit  hard with multiple quits getting finished at the same time!

Then my official job - The Binder - description - cut, machine sew one side of the binding and then hand sew the other side of the binding.  I am getting quite good at this with all the quilts they have done.  I also have learned to have a quilt to bind in the car, a good use of time!

The first quilt is Kaitlyn's and it is a big one, just over queen size.  Her favorite color is red, so she went with the red and added some yellowy-golds.  This is such a pretty quilt

The pattern is from the book
Easy Weekend Quilts which might seem familiar - Meredith made this exact pattern.

I think it looks very different, as Kaitlyn used the same fabric throughout the "background" of the quilt.

Here is a close-up of the quilting. This is Kailtyn's second big quilt and she is doing such an amazing job.

Now to Meredith's Friendship Quilt.  She taught this class at out local quilt shop this summer.  The pattern is one Meredith found via Pinterest.

This one is made with a layer cake and some yardage

One more picture.

and here is one she made using a charm pack

I couldn't be more proud of their sewing accomplishments.  I hope you don't mind me sharing the girls' projects, I think the quilts are just too beautiful not to share.
