New Jeans and Photography Class

I traced and cut out these jeans last night and then tonight started sewing them. I hope I chosen the correct size - I am loving the way they look so far. I have just finished the back pockets, lots of topstitching but boy they look good (if I do say so myself).

For 3+ years, I have owned a digital SLR camera. It takes wonderful pictures but if the user (me) knew more it could take fantastic pictures. The store hubby purchased my camera (Christmas present) offers classes and today I finally took one. SLR basics. I loved it - aperture and shutter speeds aren't so mysterious anymore. Next week is expanding on this for 45 minutes and then 45 minutes on Photoshop. I am there for that one and then the following week is tips for lowlight photography. Count me in. I am so excited.

  1. Lori, I can't wait to see the jeans. This pattern is on my short list, if I ever get over the sewing blues.

Oh my Belinda, that is surprising coming from you. Your progress is always so steady and you have such great results with your sewing I can't imagine you being in a slump! Everything you do turns out so beautifully! Here's a push to get back in there and start sewing. I love seeing your reviews and your pictures. Do it for me!?! LOL and all the others that subscribe to your blog!

Oops, I forgot to comment on Lori's sewing. I also can't wait to see the jeans as I'm thinking of trying them myself. I can't remember the last time I sewed a garment for me. It must be years and years. But I'm thinking the Ottobre patterns are working out for everyone else, so I should give them a try. Maybe some stretch babywale cords. I have some nice tan and black pieces that would be enough for a pair for me. Maybe right after Christmas. Keep sewing fast Lori, I can't wait to see these!

  4. Okay, should have read this one first. Glad you loved the class! It took me a few months to really figure out aperture and shutterspeed when I was figure it out on my own.

Those jeans look very cute. Can't wait to see them finished!
