Royal Wedding Sew-along - Fabrics and Style Inspiration

Announcing the Royal Wedding Sew-Along! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting married on May 19th and I am so excited to be a part of the sew-along.

Today I am going to talk about my pattern, Vogue 1536 and inspiration and fabric.

Photo from Vogue Pattern site

This pattern has the one option, a fitted line dress with princess seams.  The jacket is a great option for the dress and I will be including the jacket for the sewalong.

V1536 fabric suggestions are Wool Crepe, Ponte Knit, Shantung.  One important thing to note when looking for fabric, the wrong side will show on the jacket.  The collar folds back and shows the wrong side.

I am looking at some crepes, not wool crepes and have three I am debating.  All are solids - blue,  coral or red.  I am leaning toward the blue.

Now as I say that I found dress in floral from the Platt website and wow!

As much as I love the look of the floral, I think I am going to keep my dress and jacket a solid color and let the pattern design be the showcase of the outfit.

I am excited to be a part of the Royal Wedding Sewalong, I hope you will be joining, too.  Find all the details at the

I have a Pinterest board - Royal Wedding Sew-along for ideas.  Let me know your pattern and fabric ideas for this sew-along.
