Mood Fabrics' Plaid Flannel Archer Shirts

Mood Fabrics' plaid flannel Archer shirts
For  me a winter wardrobe staple is a plaid flannel shirt and I was in need of a new one.  I went with Mood Fabrics’ Maroon/Gray Tartan Plaid Cotton Flannel and it is such a nice weight for these twenty degree days.  My go-to shirt pattern is the Grainline Archer Shirt, which I have made many times including two on another Mood Sewing Network post.

One thing I really like about using plaid is the fun you can have with the bias.  On my plaid flannels I use the yoke, front button band, cuffs and pockets are all cut on the bias.

I do find the Archer to run on the large size, so keep that in mind when making your shirt.  In fact, the size on the cuffs are two sizes smaller than the rest of my shirt.  The pockets on the Archer, I like to add an inch to the width.  I want that bias pocket to make a statement!

I like to prewash all my flannel shirting in hot water and a hot dryer to help  shrink the fabric, then no surprises after the garment is made, right?  Grainline Studio has a fantastic tutorial on plaid matching and I follow it every time I make a plaid garment.  You can see how the plaids match from sleeve to side and back

This flannel has some body and thickness to it, so it felt pretty good on the twenty degree day!

Or I should say until the wind  started blowing and I was ready to head in the house.

Now if this color combination isn’t one for you, Mood Fabrics has a great selection of plaid flannels or could I interest you in another flannel Archer?  This one is for my second oldest daughter, who borrows my  plaid Archer quite frequently!  I decided it was time she had one of her own.  This one is made from Mood Fabrics’ Green/Blue/White Plaid Cotton Flannel,
Enjoy the pictures of this shirt and I feel like it is my best plaid matching so far.

  4. Dress shirts decrease over the long haul, not just after the primary wash or two. In this way, the following time you choose to wash your shirt, check it intently when the cycle. It's far-fetched you'll see any adjustment in extents. yellowstone jacket

  5. You can generally get a superior cost from an internet based store than a screen-printing and weaving shop. Rep Sneakers Site
